Why This Must Be Read: This is the Jack and Daniel that I loved on the show. Daniel is grieving after Sha're's death, and it takes a very long time for him to begin to come to terms with it. Daniel's grieving process is shown with a stark realism that's somewhat haunting without being dark, and that tugs at the heartstrings without being over-dramatic or overly emotional. This is almost as much Jack's story, as he watches Daniel grieve and feels unable to help most of the time.
