Why This Must Be Read: This story rocked my socks. It's set during the time when Jack takes Daniel home with him during Children of the Gods. Random took this familiar premise and turned it into something unique that rang true to me. It hit all the right emotional buttons without being maudlin or overdramatic. It's an intense character study of both Daniel and Jack (especially Daniel), by an author who knows these characters in the way that I know them, better than I know them.

I loved the interaction between Daniel and Jack in this story in a way that makes me miss this show so much that my heart aches for it.

While this story is completely gen and contains nothing that hints at slash, my slashy side also liked it. :-)

This story was short enough to be read in one sitting, but long enough to be satisfying in a very good way. (10,133 words)

Heh. I have been squeeing about Random ever since I first stumbled across her fics. I've recced her here... Let's see, now - wow. Nine times since the first one last May. I was going to link to them, but I'm afraid that might be considered spamming your own rec! :)

My absolute favorite is Numerology, with Angels and Vagabonds as a very close second and Training Day right after that. I love how sharply she writes Jack and Daniel.

hehe I wish there were a way to find all your recs, but I'll keep these in mind. I was going to go back and read as many of her stories that interested me, so I'll look for these first. :-)

I also love the way she writes Daniel and Jack, at least in this story that I read. *g* They were just exactly as I saw them, realistically in character for the show (at least my view of their characters *g*), and I just loved it. I'm glad to hear that her others stories are just as cool. :-)

Oh wow! That's awesome! I have a database for my fic recs, but it's mainly for me so that I don't accidentally rec the same story more than once. I love your idea of having a "master list" post on LJ. I may have to steal your idea, if I ever have the time. :-)

I love your short descriptions for each story, too. That makes it easy to find stories that I might like. I couldn't write a short blurb like that to save my life. What I wrote above is actually really short for me. *g*

They really are enjoyable. You'd probably like Angels and Vagabounds first...but I really recommend Numerology as well (even though it is S6--it's still very Daniel and Jack oriented--er, not that way, at least not that *I* read it. Your mileage may vary.)

I don't recognize "Training Day" from the title. I'll have to give it a look-see. ;-)
