Why This Must Be Read: First let me admit straight out here that I issued a challenge on the Danielficrecs list aka DFR list. The challenge was that Daniel Jackson comes home from a mission gone wrong and doesn’t want to talk about it – have one of the team help him face it and talk about it. It was a drabble fic and Cleo answered it. What she did though is absolutely amazing and in the amount of time she answered it – WOW! She wrote not one, not two, not three but 11 drabbles of about 100 words each. Each one has a military themed title and the story revolves around the episode “New Ground”. Here we see Daniel come home upset and disturbed about what happened while he was incarcerated and essentially tortured. Daniel has to face what happened to him and it is Jack that works to help Daniel face it. How Cleo weaves this story, one second at a time is truly masterful. It is hurt/comfort with a bit of angst and friendship thrown it! Enjoy!
