Summary: For True Foundations: When a mission goes wrong, a relationship is put under the spotlight. For Reconstruction: Want to know more about what happened in Janet's cabin after True Foundations?

Why This Must Be Read: True Foundations is, for me, one of the classics of Stargate gen fic. Set in Season 4, Daniel and Jack's relationship is still not fully recovered after various events that have tested their friendship. So put the two guys into a prison colony where they have no means of escape and push them to their absolute limits to see just how a friendship can be healed. How far would Daniel go to save Jack? How far will Jack go to save Daniel? And do either of the guys realize the sacrifices the other is making. This fic punches me in the gut at times with Daniel's experiences especially. Stubborn and resolute, Daniel is not going to give up trying to save Jack no matter the cost. And I love him for it. Reconstruction give us pure comfort after Jack and Daniel's experiences in the prison, and this is truly Jack's turn to shine. He's been there, done that, and there is no way he is going to let Daniel not come through the rough times.
