Daniel turned around again and shook his head. "I really should know better..."

"Than what?"

"Than to tell a pre-menstrual woman that she's pre-menstrual."

Jack winced. "Are you fuckin' suicidal? Why did you do that?"

"Um...I kinda had to," Daniel shrugged. "Not ruling out any possibilities for why she might have wigged out in the hallway on nineteen. I mean, y'know...women. They...like...synchronise."

"You thought it was PMS?" Jack asked, incredulously.

"How the hell should I know?" Daniel said. He stretched his back, presenting the long, lean line of his chest and belly. "In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a man."

Sometimes I wonder if this isn't a sly commentary on the fanfic writers that turn Daniel into a rather muscly girl.

Never looked at it that way as Anais uses Daniel's comment to encourage Jack to look and enjoy the 'scenery' *g*, but I wouldn't dismiss it as a possibility. I like all of Anais work, and you can pretty well guarantee that her Daniel will always sound like a guy, not a pseudo woman.
