Why This Must Be Read: I first read this novel in its zine form, which is still available, I believe, from Ashton Press, but, in all honesty, if I'd been aware of a significant plot point ahead of time, I might not have bought it. (Don't worry, not a plot turn that authors would warn of; just something I, personally, prefer not to read.) Having bought it, though, I wanted to get my money's worth, and I can't say I didn't. Starting during the episode Window of Opportunity, the novel first focuses on developing the burgeoning relationship between Daniel and Teal'c, then moves in a fresh, imaginative direction as the author explores Daniel's feelings regarding Junior and new discoveries about the Goa'uld species itself. Along the way, Lady Ra creates a nice balance of romance between Daniel and Teal'c, friendship between Daniel and Jack (very satisfying to this J/D OTPer), and SGC teamness with Daniel the undisputed center of it all.
Author's Summary: "As Daniel falls in love with Teal'c, he needs to find a way to accept his Goa'uld symbiote. The results cause ripples that affect the galaxy."
