Why This Must Be Read:

Much as I love Cam (my new shiny), I did feel a pang at the departure of Jack O'Neill. Thankfully fanfic has kept him alive and well, he still has a story - it's just now offscreen!

This fic reminds of why I loved Jack in the first place, it's not just that he was funny and had the best one-liners; it was that he really cared for his team - he would really have died for any of them.

Here we have a reflective Jack in a fic that shows why he can now move on.

A Teeny Extract

He takes in the shorn-off wings, bent metal and broken form. His gaze skips over where the starred glass of the cockpit is still marked with dark red. He puts a hand out and lays it flat on the nose, running hands up the almost slick surface.
