Why This Must Be Read: This is a great story with lots of team goodness and lots of Daniel whumpage. This story is set during Season 7 but after the episodes of Heroes. That is important for the second portion of the story. In this story Daniel, O’Neill and Sam are beamed to a strange cave and in order for them to get out of the cave before a booby trap is set off – Daniel must make a sacrifice that could put his very life in danger. The tension is high as Daniel is trying to translate and both Sam and Jack are working to keep Daniel from slipping away. The solving of the mystery isn’t as important as the aftermath and how Jack handles dealing with the new doctor in the infirmary. What is especially good about this story is that even though the author seems to put Teal’c to the side in the story at first, he shines with his interactions with both Sam and Jack later in the story. A great little story that could have easily fit into season 7. Thanks to my list sib at Danielficrecs for this great referral – thanks Ren!
