This is deliciously funny. It also has Janet/Paul Davis, an interesting pairing and I loved the 'foot in mouth' portrayal of Major Paul Davis

While I have to admit that this was a fun read it didn't really work for me because I couldn't buy the characterization she was selling for Major Davis. I suspect that might be my own fault though, I tend to stick with the SG is set in the real world of today concept and therefore tend to think of Davis as a much more complicated and very smart guy. I just can't think of him, with his position as liaison to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in any other way. Unless the author really works at selling something different character wise. So I read this quickly and thought it was kind of cute but at the same time felt that the author while interested in her premise was in too much of a rush to write the fic in order to sell it to me.

Um, never thought of it that way, but I can see what you mean. I don't think the story made him out to be lacking in smarts, just lacking in tact and timing, very lacking. *g*

Something I'd assume a liaison to the Joint Chiefs would need in spades. Taking that into consideration, it wouldn't take much to set up the necessary circumstances to make Davis tactless and lacking in any sense of timing, but the effort wasn't made. IMHO.
