Why This Must Be Read: This is one of those really well-written stories. It's fairly short but has all the angst and the intimacy and the feeling of a longer story. If there's one point in SG-1's history where Sam and Jack might have chucked the regulations to get together, it's post-Meridian in season 6. This fic is about how that might have gone.
Jack's voice in this is just beautiful and very true. You can easily believe that these are his thoughts, his actions. Sam is also wonderful in this. Not weepy and annoying, not uber-kick-ass and angry. She's somewhere inbetween and Jack's right there with her, like always.
Sometimes great people take great falls.
