Greetings all! I'm linnet_101 and I'll be reccing my favourite recurring character Martouf (and of course his symbiote Lantesh), this December. For a character who has only appeared in 7 episodes, he's definitely made a big impact - and truly, who didn't have a little weep at the end of "Divide and Conquer"? I'll be bringing you some of my favourite fics and we can all sigh over the 'if only's.'

Why This Must Be Read:

Ahhh Machello and his devices...

This delightful fic gives a whole new dimension to the body/gender swapping notion, because this time we have three consciousnesses and only two bodies to contend with. Jewels gives us a glimpse into the special dynamic between host and symbiote, and the acerbic dry wit that Lantesh has.

The humorous thread running through the story, pokes fun at the obvious tropes and Colonel O'Neill sharing his brand of Tau'ri humour with one of the hapless Tok'ra is definitely worth a few grins.

But even with all the comic moments, there is still that undercurrent of unease for Sam - considering her experience with Jolinar, and to see that element to the story resolve itself just makes you wonder "what if?"

"I think it's one of Machello's devices." Sam said, waving her datapad around. "Like the one that swapped Machello and Daniel, and the Colonel and Teal'c."

"But that's locked up in Area 51." Jack said slowly, as if speaking to a child.

Sam glared at him, wondering why he'd gone hyper-patronising all of a sudden.

'Oh don't worry, he always does that to us... well, Martouf and I.' muttered Lantesh.

'Remind me to punch him later for it.'

I'm so surprised that no-one has recced him before! Martouf is the whole reason I got into fanfiction, because I needed more of him :D
