Why This Must Be Read: Set in the first season, this is more of a Teyla-centric story than it is a story about their relationship but I found it a very interesting read. As part of a strange ritual, John and Teyla end-up sort of re-enacting a legend of two lovers but there's more to the legend and the ritual than they thought, and we end up with John in the brig and Teyla in the infirmary but with the rest of the gang's help, everything is resolved and we have a very apologetic John and forgiving Teyla at the end. I really liked the premise and execution of the story and the characterization is very much in tune with what we know about their personalities.
