I finally found an original character (well, one that hadn't been recced already *G*), that I just went nuts over and had to rec. Lori Wright has long been a favorite author of mine. She writes in a variety of fandoms I adore and has done some Sentinel crossovers that I will love and adore her for until the end of fandom itself and when I saw she had a Stargate/Sentinel story with OCs, I just about went BWEE!. Why you ask? Well, she writes long, plotty, fun stories but not a lot of original characters. In this one, she takes a canon character (Carolyn Plummer) from the Sentinel universe, creates a sister for that canon character, assigns said sister to the SGC and then, hooks said sister up with Malek. (It's Season Seven set btw) I'd've rathered Martouf but, hey, this is me we're talking about. I'm all about the Marty-love. Either way, there are, technically two OCs in this story as not only does she hook Colleen (the aforementioned sister) but she also gives name and identity to Malek's host. Shan. Nice boy. Sweet. *pets him*
The fic starts off a bit slow and is a bit rough in spots (kind of atypical for Lori) but it's got a strong feel to it and Lori's OCs fit the plot perfectly. And the treat of watching sneaky Blair and Jim following Jim's former sister in law (Colleen)'s new boyfriend (that'd be Malek of course *G*) around cause, the boy ain't quite right...is not to be missed. Plus, we get the added treat of seeing the whole Stargate clan through the eyes of outsiders and I love stories which do that. Cause, really, you gotta admit, a Tok'ra on Earth among humans with no idea about the Stargate for the first time?
Hehe.
But, yes, for those rare Stargate/Sentinel fans who love Original Characters? This one? This one well worth the read.
But, pack a lunch. Tis 304kb in it's entirety though you can read it in two parts if that's a little daunting for you. :-p
