Warning: Major Character Death!
Author on LJ: unknown
Author's Website: Tiffany May Harrsh’s site
Link: Cold Comfort
Why This Must Be Read: I rarely read a death fic and that is what this is a death! fic. But this was recommended to me on a Yahoo Daniel Fiction recommendation group. It is an older story but it is well written and achingly poignant. I did not place it in the hurt/comfort category because the hurt is there but as the title suggests the comfort is cold and hurts just as much as the pain. In this story, the team ends up on a world with booby traps and they end up tripping one. The team is portrayed perfectly and there is a begging need as you read this to know that somehow everything is going to be all right – even though the author has warned you of the major character death and even started the story out with essentially telling you who is dead. To finish this sad story, the author adds a twist that stabs your heart. Not for everyone but I think it is a story some will be interested in reading.
