Admin: Tagging, Posting, and Sign Ups
Sep. 1st, 2006 02:40 pmJust another reminder to PLEASE not tag your own entries. We have volunteers who do all the tagging of entries. They are told that if tags are already on the entries, then they are to remove them. So really, you're only making more work for people who work VERY hard.
Also, PLEASE do not wait until the end of the month to post your rec's. With four weeks in the month, I would hope that everyone could spread out their rec's throughout the month. It makes everything easier on the volunteers and admins. Do a mid-month posting and and end-month posting or do one a week. But if we have even five rec'cers who wait until the last day of the month to post, that's 20 fic rec entries on someone's flist. So spread them out, please.
For the longest time, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I have sort of shared the sign up entries. However, I am going to be handing them all off to her. So she'll be doing all of the replying to requests to rec from now on. (She has been doing the majority of that for the past several months, but now it is her baby! *g*) I hope you'll all be patient as she sets up new entires so that she receives all the comments at her email address. Also, for the long Jack/Daniel line, it will NOT mess up the order in which you signed up. So no worries there. We'll make sure you get your turn in line.
I'd like to continue to ask that you not request a specific month, but for some reason, people continue to do it. Just know that if there is a conflict with the number of categories rec'ced or any other issue, you may not get to do the month you request. There are no promises or guarantees for months. We do the best we can, but it doesn't always work out that way. And believe me, it has happened in the past.
Lastly, please don't wait until the big post comes out to sign up. I'm doing things a bit differently, hoping not to clog up the comm with posts about rec'cing and categories. Basically, I'll be posting a list with ALL categories. Then at the end of the month (the last day), I'll post the list of who is rec'cing for what. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] will then switch posting access over on the first of the month.
Thank you!
