Author's Summary: Suspense - "It takes an interloper with designs on Daniel to finally get Jack to make his move." Solace - "Daniel's investigation into the death of his archaeology professor leads him to Egypt and to the Goa'uld, Osiris." Serenity - "General Hammond's shock resignation leads Jack to join forces with Maybourne to protect Daniel, SG-1, and Hammond's family."
Why This Must Be Read: Generally, I'm not crazy about stories that incorporate episode action to the point where whole scenes and dialogue from the ep are in the fic. Too often, these scenes and dialogue are just rehashes of what we've already seen with little to no character insight added or worse, added insight coming across as forced or contrived. Not so with this series of stories from Biblio, which encompass series action from The Curse and Chain Reaction, into her original storyline of Jack and Daniel forging a new romantic relationship while Alex Devoe, a fully realized, three-dimensional OC, tries to steal Daniel away.
One of the best things I can say about Biblio's work, and which is no less the case with this series of stories, is that it is filled with such life. She pays such attention to detail - in her characters' voices, their mannerisms, their interactions with each other in tone and thought and behavior, the doings of their daily lives - that you can't help but believe in these people. Add to that sex scenes that aren't just about the physical but that are all the more erotic for being about character and relationship, as well as her amazing ability to craft words into precise, evocative, and creative turns of phrase, and you have a series that is both lively and alive. Biblio seamlessly weaves the action of The Curse and Chain Reaction into her story in a way that keeps it her story and is guaranteed to make you look at those eps again in wholly different ways.
