Daniel and Jack's disagreement over how to handle Teal'c's problem in Cartago results in a dangerous situation for Daniel.
I will start off with the one story that is my absolute favorite in this category. The story takes place after the episode "Cor-AI". Daniel and Jack get into an argument and in a fit of anger Jack shoves Daniel then SG-1 heads back to Earth. Upon returning to Earth the team receives a few strange glances from others but can't understand why until several hours later when they realize that Daniel didn't return with them and has no means of getting home. Without a GDO Daniel is unable to return to Earth and must wait for SG-1 to retrieve him. He's badly injured and must race against time to conceal evidence of their arrival on the planet.
As I mentioned above this is my absolute favorite gen fic and is the one story I've read probably a dozen times by now. The story is powerful and impacting. The tensions between Jack and Daniel get so thick that by the half way mark you find yourself wanting to strangle Jack. The story appeals to me because it focuses intently on the relationship between Daniel and Jack as well as the fact that Daniel is a civilian who is "untrained" for military protocal. Unlike most stories that take place in the earlier seasons of Stargate Daniel is not one to take things lying down. The story shows that Daniel is quite capable of taking care of himself while protecting an entire village of people and being seriously injured to bat. The story keeps me on the edge of my seat each time I read it and I hope that you will also get much enjoyment from it.
