Why This Must Be Read:

Daniel goes to the funeral of a friend and has confronts his past.

At first glance, this is a Daniel story - an old archaeology friend of Daniel's has died and he wants to go to the funeral. However, when Jack realises that the people at the funeral will be the same people that were the lecture we saw in the movie, we see evidence of the friendship that exists between Jack and Daniel and that Jack isn't as oblivious to/ignorant of people and human nature as he would often have us believe. I absolutely adored the ending.

This is short, 10 min, story with Jack at his best.
