Why This Must Be Read: This fic addresses the aftermath of Beneath the Surface. I always felt that the episode left so much unsaid between Jack and Sam, and so much unexplored. How could they go from being as close as Jonah and Thera were to being just 'Colonel and Major' again so easily? This fic explores that, and shows how very difficult it was.
