Why This Must Be Read: This is a gem of a story. Just released from a zine this is well worth it. It starts off strong with a good team base and moves forward to a Jack and Daniel friendship fic then it twists with horrific choices to be made by Jack and Daniel. The story starts out on the most inhospitable of planets – think Antarctic-like cold. SG1 is there to recover a device spotted by the MALP and UAV- little do they know the Tok’ra found and concealed an ominous presence on the planet. Before Jack and Daniel must confront the evil presence, they must survive the frigid planet. This is all fanfic cliché until they get to the inner sanctum of the presence. There Jack and Daniel are forced to make a choice that could change their lives forever but it could kill them as well. I’ll let you go read this – it is an angst fest all around with strong points for a Jack and Daniel friendship fic as well as Carter taking on the leadership role with Teal’c as her advisor.
