This fic is a perfect example of why Michelle is on my "favourite fan fic authors" list. It's an AU story set in season 8 and deals with the after-effects of Heroes. I think this is my favourite AU fic ever. It certainly doesn't make light of the consequences of coming across someone you love in an alternate reality, so I'll give you a tissue warning in advance.
