ALL Rec'cers PLEASE Read! And all others... this is an FYI and a request.
First off, I have been corresponding with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] about our 'cousin' comms, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. She's in need of some help. These comms were designed specifically to work in tandem with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] in that this is an intended resource for people who volunteer to rec for this community. It helps people find fics that they may want to rec. It's a brilliant idea, but it needs a bit of help in that she's needing mods. If you're interested, email her at stargatefic @ gmail . com (Remember to remove the spaces in the addy!)
And now for the 'meat' of this post...
This is sort of a 'Welcome to Rec'cing' post with reminders and HTML help.
Just a couple of reminders. If you've rec'ced in the past, this would be more of a refresher than anything.
1. Please remember that we have volunteers who will tag your entry. That's their job to work through the entries and give them all the proper tags. We have three ladies who have a list of acceptable tags and they go through and put them on the entries for you.
2. Please check through the memories and make sure that your fic hasn't already been rec'ced. I know that looking through the memories can be a bit crazy as so many categories have come and gone over the last couple of years. Still, it helps to curb repeat recommendations.
3. Please make sure you are listed as a member of the comm. LJ will not let us give you posting access if you aren't.
4. For the 'Rec Category', make sure you list ONLY the category that you signed up for. In other words, if you signed up to rec Jack/Daniel, then your entry should read:
Rec Category: Jack/Daniel
Please do not use the words, 'Character', 'Friendship', 'Genre', or 'Pairing' in your Rec Category. It makes it a bit more difficult for the volunteers who put the fics into memories.
Okay, now for the template. You should be able to cut and paste this into your entry when you post. Just remember to replace the '*' with '<' and '>'!

Please do not deviate from this format. If you want to add anything to the entry, the 'Why This Must Be Read:' portion is exactly for that! The sky is the limit there!
And lastly... an FAQ if you have any further questions...
Stargateficrec FAQ!
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has volunteered for this month. It's absolutely amazing as we've never had this many volunteers before! I'm so very excited!
