'After All' is one of the few fics where Sam and Jack have sex and then don't immediately fall into angst-free loveandhugs. The classic 'morning after' genre applied to remind us that these characters are complex and difficult people with complicated lives. It's not angst for the sake of it, but deriving naturally from the situation, and Little Red gives us a good reason for them to finally do the wild thing. The language is good, getting across the feeling of uncertainty, and the word choice rocks my wee socks. If this isn't one of the classics of the pairing, then there is indeed no justice.
