Rec Category: John Sheppard
Character: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, and a really funny alien; with cameos by Teyla, Ford and the population of a whole 'nother planet's village
Category: Action/adventure, gen, humor
Warning: None
Author on LJ:

Author's Website: ltljverse.com
Link: Fellow Traveler
Why This Must Be Read: One of the things about the show that annoys me is the fact that it's pretty xenophobic for a science fiction show. If the writers were doing it for anything other than laughs about naked aliens from twelve-year-old boys, I would be fine with it just being another one of those flaws that our very imperfect heroes seem to have. But they don't, and it really (obviously *g*) annoys me. So when I find an author who can take an aspect of the show that I don't like and turn it completely on its head and make me laugh really hard--well, then. *g* Rodney and John's snarking is pitch-perfect, and, wonder of wonders, the characters grow (John especially) past their starting point at the beginning of the story. Plus, the titular alien is hilarious.
