The new year is going to bring some changes to the comm. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I have given a great deal of thought to this and have come to a few decisions. (It's going to look like a lot, but it really isn't!)
***First off, we have decided to combine some categories and move a few others to the 'Other' category. No category was eliminated. It was simply moved, and will no longer have a separate Sign Up post.
Characters- None were moved. However, there is no longer a separate category for Atlantis and SG-1 'Other' Characters. They are the same category now.
Genre- Four categories were moved to 'Other'. Episode-Fix, Smarm, Novel, and Point of View have been moved. On 'probation', Action/Adventure and Drama. For these categories to remain, they'll have to have a steady course of volunteers.
Pairings- There is no longer a separate 'Other' category for Atlantis and SG-1. There are still separate categories for Slash Pairing and Het Pairing though. Out of all the decisions we made, this was the most difficult as my two favorites were moved to the 'Other' category. Those categories moved are: Jack/Paul, Daniel/Paul, Janet/Jonas, Janet/Teal'c, Jack/Jonas, Daniel/Jonas, Ronon/Elizabeth, Teyla/Weir, Sam/Jonas. However, we are adding new categories. They are: Sam/Cameron, Cameron/Carolyn, and Cameron/Daniel. On probation is Ronon/McKay.
Please remember that ALL of these categories may still be rec'ced. Simply sign up in the 'Other' category and let us know which one you want to rec for the month!
***Rec'cers no longer automatically carry over to the next month. If you wish to continue, and no one else has requested to rec, simply leave a comment with the category for which you wish to continue rec'cing.
***All comments have been deleted from the category request posts, except requests to volunteer for January. We're going to try very hard to keep comments solely to requests and notifications. If there's something you'd like to discuss about the comm, please feel free to email one of us! medie @ livejournal . com or angelsgracie @ livejournal . com. We love exchanging emails!
***Tags-- It has been requested that entries (past, present, and future) be tagged for ease of finding fics. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I agree that it will make matters easier. However, we're going to leave it it 3 member volunteers to do it!
We'll take 'applications' via emails to me (angelsgracie @ livejournal . com) and then we'll choose 3 'taggers' (as I call them *g*) with 1 as a backup. This is NOT a month-to-month position. It will be ongoing. Each 'tagger' will *only* tag an entry with the category(ies) that the rec'cer lists on the rec. This includes the Rec Category as well as the other categories that the rec'cer lists. One volunteer will tag for 'Characters/Friendships', one will tag for 'Genres', and one for 'Pairings'. (Yep, it matches the initial breakdown of categories!)

***Memories: In the same vein as Tags, we're going to add volunteers to put recs into Memories. A fic can ONLY be added to the Memory for the category in which is was rec'ced. The Rec Category should be the category that the volunteer signed up for and listed FIRST on the entry. We'd like 3 volunteers for this too. One volunteer will put recs in memories for 'Character/Friendship', one for 'Genre', and one for 'Pairing'.

NOTE:Volunteers will be given 'Maintainer' privileges. However, ALL Admin Responsibilities still rest on the shoulders of myself and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com].
Now that [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has her computer back (*knocks on wood*), she will be handling all requests to rec. She will compile the list of rec'cers for each month... by the 27th at least!
I will be responsible for posting access and the 'Monster' post that tells the members who is rec'cing what. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I will handle any situation as it arises. Volunteers to add 'Tags' or put recs into 'Memories' will do only that, as far as any maintaining is concerned.
And that's it! More details about 'Tags' and 'Memories' will be given once we have our volunteers. We're very excited about having more participation by our members. You guys are GREAT!!!!!
