I have this in the FAQ, but after putting over a hundred fics into memories, I'd like to stress this again.
Rec Template (Please follow this. I love having a very active comm, but I have to do some fixes before I put some fics into memories or have to hunt for the category you're rec'cing.)
Subject: Title by Author (Rating) (Please do not put any ', " or HTML in the subject line.)
Entry: (Please do not repeat the subject line in the first line of your entry. The first line should be Rec Category)
Rec Category: (This is the category you signed up to rec. It isn't 'Character' or 'Pairing' or 'Genre'. It would be 'Daniel' or 'Sam/Daniel' or 'Originial Character'.)
Pairing: (This applies if there is ANY pairing in the story that is being rec'ced. No abbreviations please as it kind of gets confusing. Also, no name blending. I know this is a bit redundant if you're rec'cing a pairing, but if there's more than one couple in the story, it's necessary.)
Category: (This is any category in which the author puts his/her story. If you're rec'cing 'Angst', the story can still be 'Slash', 'H/C', and AU.)
Warning: (This is a must! If the author puts a warning up on the story or you feel that it's going to be something that would bother people if they were surprised by it, PUT IT HERE! I'm talking about things like 'character death', 'non-concensual sex', 'molestation', et al.)
Author on LJ:
Author's Website:
Link: (This is the link to the story.)
Why This Must Be Read: (And this is the fun part! Where you get to spout off about your favorite parts of the story. Remember if it's long, please use an lj-cut)
Example (Here's an example of what a rec should look like. I'm using one of my stories for purposes of ease. *g*)
Subject: Channel Surfing by Christina A. (PG)
Rec Category: Teal'c
Pairing: none
Category: Humor, Friendship
Warning: none
Author on LJ: [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Author's Website: Heavenly Bodies
Link: Channel Surfing
Why This Story Must Be Read: I wrote it for a friend who loves Teal'c and wanted a funny story about Teal'c and Jonas.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I like to post these reminders about posting format once in a while. I'm really, really excited about the number of new rec'cers we have coming in.
You're ALL doing a fantastic job!!!!!

Date: 2005-12-02 03:14 am (UTC)Well I don't do it. But I've read like McWeir and McShep mentioned on my flist to refer to McKay/Weir and McKay/Sheppard. But it really gets confusing if you aren't heavy into that ship or fandom.
And you're welcome. Anytime!

Date: 2005-12-03 02:58 am (UTC)And darn! I need a kitchen sink cleaned. Hehehe! [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I will probably put out a post at the end of the month detailing what we want to do. We're thinking about volunteers to put stories in memories and to tag entries for easy look-up. We're still kicking around how we want to set it up. I'm excited about it.
