I have excuses for why I'm a bad reccer this month, but at least I'm swinging in with a rec before the month is out.
Rec Category: Daniel
Pairing: Daniel/Sha're
Category: Gen, Drama
Warning: none
Author on LJ: ?
Author's Website: http://www.fadedpress.com/
Link: http://www.fadedpress.com/fiction/sg1_donotstray.html
Why This Must Be Read: While this story is mostly told from Sha're's point of view, it very clearly paints an accurate representation of Daniel in a few small strokes. The language in this story is really powerful; it's a very controlled piece. Every Daniel aficionado should read this one.
Sha'uri only sings when she thinks no one is listening, because her favorite songs are ancient odes to the might of Ra, the wrath of Ra, the power of Ra. She thinks that it seems wrong to sing songs of the god who enslaved her people, the god her husband killed.
