Why This Must Be Read: Welcome to Daniel’s Brain.
I have enjoyed reading this fic the 36th time as much as I did the first. The premise is such a simple one: Daniel seduces Jack. Though the destination may never be in question, the ride there holds your rapt attention.
This is the best story in the SG-1 fandom for getting who Daniel is and how he thinks. It’s a superior writer who can write intelligible and interesting stream-of-consciousness -- and when the subject is Daniel, well-known for his lateral thinking capabilities? 100%. Brilliant.
What’s more - this Daniel thinks like an anthropologist. I’ve not seen any other Daniel who thinks like an anthropologist. A few writers have captured an archaeologist but this is anthropologist!Daniel. Daniel seduces Jack with a branch of anthropological study called semiotics. Would that semiotics were this...interesting...when I was in college; I certainly would have been a better student.
Don’t be turned off by my anthro geekery...Teand never uses the term and it’s irrelevant to enjoying the story from a purely visceral sense. It simply augments physical titillation with a mental one.
Author's Summary: Daniel has a bit of a think about the current situation -- which then changes.
