Rec Category: Daniel/Jonas
Pairing: Daniel/Jonas, mentions of Jack/Daniel and Jack/Sam
Category: Angst, Slash
Warning: none
Author on LJ: none that I know of
Author's Website: none that I know of

Why This Must Be Read: This is as much a Jack/Daniel story as it is a Daniel/Jonas story. It's an interesting take on what happens when Daniel returns—how his friends have changed and what happens when Daniel's memory doesn't quite match reality.
Jonas is edged with bitterness, which is just an interesting take on his character. And angst is good for the soul.
The replacement of lost memory with new experiences seems to be Daniel's chosen strategy. For someone with the patience to learn so many languages, he's worryingly quick to give up on the idea of remembering.
Daniel likes Jonas because Jonas really is new to him and the things he learns aren't just a rerun of a forgotten past. When he finds out that Jonas likes the Boston Red Sox it really is new information. The conversation is being played out for the first time.
