Why This Must Be Read: I'm a fan of post-Conversion bug!John stories and this is darker than most, but with a hopeful ending. In this, John is only partially restored by Carson's treatment, flees through the gate into Pegasus, and Teyla and Ronon have searched for him for months. Finally, on an off-world mission, Teyla, Ronon, and Lorne find a number of dead Wraith...
Teyla took a deep breath. "I would like to stay here a while longer, Colonel."
"We can't spare you. Besides, it wouldn't be safe."
"And if Colonel Sheppard is here?"
"You think that he might be the cause every time the Wraith come to a little grief."
"He might be. Certainly they have suffered inexplicable small losses since--"
"Teyla." His eyes were sympathetic, but unyielding. "I saw Colonel Sheppard before he ran. The odds are he didn't make it. And it would be better for him if he didn't."
