The story is divided into three chapters, on the Wayback Archive. At this point, the links to all three parts work fine.

Why This Must Be Read: Author's Summary: SG-1 is invited to participate in an exchange program that goes wrong before it even starts.

The SGC is contacted via the Stargate by an advanced race of explorers. There's a communication barrier, but it's clear that an offer of a mutual exchange of information has been extended. SG-1 agrees to go on a field trip through the 'gate, for that purpose, but while they all set out on the trip, it's only Daniel and Sam who step out on the other side ... maybe.

This story follows Daniel and Sam on a journey of a different kind. It's a smart, well written story with an original, emotive plot twist that has stuck with me ever since I first read it many many years ago.


"We wish to teach you of our world," Breatan said, even though she knew that Daniel and Sam didn't understand her words. "And learn of yours. Solnealinnia."

"Solnealinnia..." Daniel repeated, mystified. Sam looked over at him with a questioning glance.
