Why This Must Be Read:
Fortunately, this is not the sort of Cthulhu-mythos story that will drive you insane simply via having read it. Rather, this is the sort of Cthulhu story that happens when someone tries to land a ha'tak on the front door of one of the Outer Gods, thereby destroying the Bent Pyramid. (Fortunately for our side, the someone in question is not connected to SG-1. As a result, civilized snark ensues and the Herald of the Outer Gods is more amused than offended at our heroes; all the casualties are on the side of the Goa'uld.)
I should mention that this story is part of a series - but in this case, it's a (short) series of freestanding crossovers in which Nyarlathotep is the recurring guest star; the other entries to date feature comics-verse Batman and the Carnahan/O'Connell clan from the Mummy movies.
Snippet of Fic:
A tall, dark man dressed like a Goa’uld System Lord (Ancient Egyptian flavor) stepped over the corpse to look in the cell. “Either you are enemies of Osiris, or his ideas of hospitality are very much lacking,” the man said in a precise British accent.
“Why not both?” Colonel O’Neill asked. Daniel Jackson watched the man, studying him.
The dark man contemplated that for a second or so. “Enemies of my enemy, then. Possibly friends, but that remains to be determined. You are, at least, enemies of my enemy.” He waved one hand and the force field turned off. “Where in this ridiculous vessel is the primary control room?”
