Why This Must Be Read: Larrin sometimes needs a helping hand with her fleet and Jennifer is only too happy to lend that helping hand. It's always nice to see someone else get the girl in one of these stories, and I like that it's Jennifer this time around.
There was something hilariously funny and positively terrifying about her situation - up to her elbows in Wraith hive technology performing surgery on a spaceship that was adrift and slowly dying with the Traveler captain as her assisting. If she couldn't somehow use her medical knowledge in combination with the vague sense memory of transforming into a hive ship herself to fix the living heart of this ship, they'd run out of air, and no one would ever know what happened to her. No one would believe this. This was the kind of thing that happened to McKay and Sheppard - kidnapped by a hot alien, fixing absurdly advanced tech with spit and staples, facing down death in the vastness of space. No, she was supposed to be vaccinating children off-world or filling out requisition forms back on Atlantis, not sticking her hands into the guts ( the guts ) of a spaceship and finding her kidnapper not just terrifyingly gorgeous but kind of adorable too.
