I got the little girl close to me. She let me touch her head. She is soaking wet. I pull my hand away and I find a lot of mud on my palm. She is filthy dirty. I have a towel in the back of my cab. I throw a few more pieces of pepperoni on the ground to keep her occupied while I lift up one of the seats in the back so she has more room.

I try to coax her into the back. She is still a little leary of me. I take some pepperoni out, and put it on the floor of my cab. She sees it and immediately jumps up into the back. Before I can close the door, she has devoured the pepperoni and has jumped into the front seat of the truck. I know exactly what is about to happen.

“No! Not in my truck!” I yell through the windows.
