Why This Must Be Read: Redbyrd writes a lot of great episode tags. This one is a three part series that takes us all the way back to the beginning in Children of the Gods and fills in missing scenes in a way that I genuinely cannot tell apart from actual on-screen scenes. I'm going to have to do a re-watch because of this fic. The characterization of SG-1 and the various orbiting characters is amazing and the development of Daniel and Teal'c's relationship especially shines.


Daniel stumbled shivering out of the wormhole side by side with Captain Carter at the head of Ferretti's stretcher. He noticed that going through holding onto the stretcher seemed to stabilize them, as they all arrived upright and on their feet. He stepped back to let the medical team work, scrubbed frozen tears from his cheeks and wiped the frost off his glasses. The rasp of metal-on-metal behind them startled him into looking at the gate as a sort of metal cover irised shut.

Thank you! Bookmarking this one to read for sure. The transition from the film to the TV series (and James Spader to Michael Shanks) is something I think about a lot as a fic writer, so I'm looking forward to reading this.

At this point I'm like hmm which of Redbyrd's episode related fics have I not yet recced! I enjoy them all so much. Definitely pleased to have them on AO3 now :)
