2020 Stats and Open Reccer's Month

stargateficrecMany thanks to goddess47, logicgunn, mific, and sg1jb for all their December recs! We finished off the year with a fantastic 20 recs this month, including my own.
Our stats for 2020:
We had a total of 166 recs this year, which is slightly lower than 2019's 177 but still much higher than the years before that. I think we can forgive anything from this past year, don't you? :) And I still amazed and delighted to see our comm still thriving, so many years after every bit of canon closed.
So I salute all you reccers - the shiny new ones trying it for the first time, the semi-regulars that keep coming back to spread the squee, and most of all, you wonderful steady regulars who come back month after month after month to keep the Stargate spinning. And my thanks, as well, to my wonderful fellow mods,annieb and thenightsfall, who manage the tagging and memories that do so much to keep the comm navigable and accessible for everyone!
And speaking of everyone: even if you're "just" a reader, those of you who read the fics and give kudos or comments to the author (and sometimes even the reccer!) are the very reason why this comm exists. So thanks for justifying our existence, so to speak. :)

Readers may be the reason this comm exists, but you are the reason it hasn't gotten swallowed up in the kawhoosh. (Possibly not the best metaphor...) So thank you again. :)
Now on to a new calendar year and a new event: Open Reccer's Month!
This will be exactly what it says on the tin: anyone, even non-members, can rec this month, with no minimum or restriction to specific category. You don't need to check to see if a story has been recced before (this has been true for quite some time, actually) or if someone else is reccing the same category. Just set up your rec according to the template you'll find on the FAQ page and you're ready to go!
Posting this month has only a few rules:
1. Since this will be open to everyone, please slot your rec into one of the existing categories that already exist in the memories. This is not hard. If you aren't sure what category to use, you can always fall back on "Gen" or "Het" or "Slash" as a last resort. :)
2. Please follow the template linked above. If you need help, my email is listed below.
3. Self-recs MUST be listed in the "Self-Rec" category.
We will be moderating entries only to ensure that the basic template is being followed and to protect the comm from spam bots. If you have any questions, email me at sg1.fig at gmail and I'll be happy to help.
