Why This Must Be Read: It's prostitute!underage!Rodney but the story's really gen, even though Rodney propositions John. An ancient device sends John back 20 years, to find Rodney's turning tricks to pay his college fees. I like Rodney's sassyness - all bravado really - and John insisting on rescuing him, once again. And there's yet another take on time travel - you can't change the future because from the moment you go back it's already changed so it doesn't matter too much what you do in the past as you were always going to do it. Hmmm. But it's a lovely story, and heartwarming.
John sat quietly for a moment and thought about how much time he'd spent here and how hungry he was. If he was hungry, McKay would be about ready to eat his head. "Hey, can I buy you a burger?"
"Oh sure", McKay jumped to his feet. "That's the only thing you've said that doesn't sound completely nuts!"
John stood to follow him. "I just … I shouldn't have been playing with the time tube thing, I suppose. Maybe this will teach me listen when you tell me not to touch things."
"Hah, well, thirty more dollars and you can touch whatever you want," McKay winked over his shoulder. "Hey, are you my boyfriend in the future?"
