Why This Must Be Read: First, I want to assure any potential readers that despite the warnings, this fic is actually pretty fluffy. It's a crossover (fusion?) with the video game The Long Dark. John and Rodney are traveling to an air base when their helicopter crashes. They have to survive alone in the upper part of Canada (hence the animal death, as they hunt to survive). They take care of each other and there is A LOT of cuddling and sweetness. The attempted non-con does not happen between John and Rodney, plus it isn't graphically described. Mostly it's just the boys getting to know each other and falling in love.
It’s nice to have someone care about his wellbeing. It’s been a long time since anyone touched him with anything other than clinical detachment. Someone who isn’t getting paid to fix him up and send him back out into a warzone, or assess his state of mind and fitness for court-martial. To find it here, in the hands of a stranger in the middle of nowhere is kind of poetic. He just hopes they both make it out of here in one piece.
