Why This Must Be Read: This is a well-written, classic SG-1 Team off-world adventure, with great characterisations and pacing. The team goes off-world, someone says something they oughtn't (gee, who could that be?), and the team ends up being chased back through the gate. I was having a rotten bad awful day, until I read this ... and I cannot think of a better reason for recc'ing a story than that.


"Then what the heck are those things following us?"

"You heard Maltesh. Those chosen to protect the Keres are given a virus that enhances their strength and agility."

"White skin, rotten flesh, sunken eyes. They sure look like zombies to me!"

"Side effects."

"You think?"
