Why This Must Be Read: All of Sholio's stories are excellent but this one stuck with me from the moment I read it. She categorized it as angst but I'd add angst with a happy ending. Meanwhile, I'll let the summary speak for itself.
The old guy in Room 30B was about the most disagreeable human being that the nurses had ever met. But he did get visitors, including a retired Air Force Colonel.
