Why This Must Be Read: Rodney - or Meredydd, as he's called in this fic - works as a doctor for a small village, just barely making ends meet. Jeannie invites him over for dinner one evening and requests that he help an acquaintance of hers: a Roman by the name of Junius. Rodney hates the Romans, who have invaded his country, but Jeannie is persuasive and he ends up agreeing. I love fic where the two characters are at odds in the beginning - it makes the developing relationship more fun. It's not done often with McShep, which makes it all the more fun when it does come up. This fic is well written and a lot of fun.
