Why This Must Be Read: This is a great, angsty AU where John and Rodney were in a relationship when young, only for John to join the Air Force and walk away from everything he had with Rodney. Upon being kicked out, John seeks him out to right the wrong he's done - and maybe get the love of his life back. Respoftw does a wonderful job writing the guys as flawed but likable. You ache for them to make up and be happy, but it's understandable why Rodney hesitates. While there is some angst, it's not the kind that drags you down and swallows you whole. It's a fun, charming fic that you'll speed through, because once you start it's difficult to stop.
