Why This Must Be Read: Rodney discovers John’s “illicit mantoy past” with Lex Luthor when they both meet up with him in the present. This has some really nice writing. I kind of weirdly always remember it for the different perspective “"I disobeyed orders," John says impatiently, because civilians just don't understand” gave me on John’s black mark.
"...and then Nelson managed to blow the power couplings again, and Sanford took all morning to get the calculations for the ZPM containment field all wrong, and I just wasted precious time cleaning up another of Bronson's messes…"
Rodney's tirade carries him through the doors and into the middle of John's room.
John glances up from his packing. "Hey, come on in, Rodney. Make yourself at home."
