Why this must be read:

I'm reccing this month for Radek Zelenka, everyone's favourite scruffy Czech genius :) And this is probably my favourite story about him.

Cybersyd has written several wonderful Zelenka-centered stories, all of which are recommended to fans of his: this is a moving, heart-wrenching piece in his own POV and wandering through his past in both his home country and the Antarctic base, and his present on Atlantis, creates light but vivid touches of backstory, but with an edge that gets darker more troubled and confused as the memories blur and we realise, along with Radek, that there is something wrong...

With Beckett distracted, Radek gives in to the urge to touch his forehead. His fingers come away clean, not bloodied and sticky.

He stares at his fingertips. They waver in front of him, and at the back of his throat he tastes bile.

"Carson -"

His voice is weak, the warning unheard. Beckett is still in deep argument with McKay. It is strange, Radek muses, thoughts confused, what brought these two together. It makes their ultimate parting more painful.
