Author’s summary: I had a LOT of feelings after watching the beauty and travesty that was “The Shrine” and this is the end result.
Why This Must Be Read:
This is the first SGA fic by starlightandpinot, written in December 2021, and it gives us an AU Mcshep version of the episode The Shrine, but with Carson instead of Jennifer. The powerful emotions between Rodney and John are so vivid and palpable, drawing you in completely. The story not only ties up the loose ends and fills the gaps in the episode but goes so much further, delivering a beautifully satisfying ending.
It's an incredible story—written with such emotional depth and sensitivity—and truly deserves every read and reread.
