Why This Must Be Read: this is alternating POV John and Rodney, so not just about John, but it's hilarious badfic and I had to rec it. Cupidsbow takes us through ten styles including a truly awful songfic, and the icing on the cake is that it's also post-Doranda, so the fic starts with a nice helping of rejection, shunning and angst! Very funny, in the best badfic style.

Author’s summary: Some time after Sunday and Phantoms, nightmares plague Rodney. Unable to sleep and seeing ghosts everywhere, he returns to Earth with John in tow. Madison draws pictures to help him feel better and even gives him a lovey. It's a story about recharging that takes place with a Halloween backdrop.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a wonderful, sensitive tale that I really want more people to know and enjoy.

It’s about Rodney’s friendship with John, about a supportive team and family, and how, especially, the genuine, childlike view of four-year-old Madison worms its way into Rodney’s mind, which is dealing with all the pressure, angst and grief that life in Atlantis has put him through.
It will make your heart ache with Rodney’s feeling of sadness about losing people he cares about but also make you bounce with pure squee about Madison’s lovely (included) drawings, and how they smooth the way for Rodney to get his feet back on the ground.
