Why This Must Be Read: I am such a huge sucker for "What if Sateda Never Fell?" stories. Unfortunately, they are few and far between, but lucky for us, this one is a complete gem, with terrific world building and a fascinating first meeting and developing relationship between Ronon and John. We're thrown in media res into a tense political situation for Commander Ronon, and here come these strangers who claim to want to be allies. Will the Satedans trust them or not? Shifting perspectives add tremendous depth to this long and satisfying story.
