Why This Must Be Read: Wonderful world-building - and the story is taking the show in a very different direction, while still keeping the heart of the show. This is not only Jolinar survives (in Sam), but also Apophis conquers Earth. We follow a group of escaped Tau'ri as they try to rebuild on another world, and search for allies - which eventually leads them to the Tok'ra. The story is often dark and angsty, but there is also hope, and heroism, and friendship. The story is mostly gen, with the ship only being part of the last 1/4 of the story. Great, fairly long story, well worth reading more than once!
