Rodney discovers an alien pet resembling a cat off world and brings it home. John soon becomes jealous as hell! And then said cat enters puberty and starts moping around... XD Setup for a cracktastic and hilarious look into pet ownership in the Pegasus galaxy. Argosy makes this "cat" just as much a character of the story as John and Rodney and just creates a mix that will keep you laughing all the way through. I loved the moping, the cat eating John's jello, and him thinking this pet is the most awesome in the world when it sprouts wings. You'll enjoy every bit of it!

Why This Must Be Read: Here's another I-can't-believe-it-hasn't-been-recced-before Jack/Daniel story, and it's another dark!Daniel fic—this one is Daniel still in Shifu's dream. Dictator of the planet, he's keeping Jack around, despite Jack's numerous escape attempts.

Diana creates a slow build of horror and helplessness as we experience Jack living in Daniel's control. It's not so much ruthless evil that makes Daniel so creepy, but more his casual inattention to his own wrongness. With spot-on dialogue and a few incisive observations, Diana uses spare language to weave a deeply felt story.
