Why This Must Be Read: This is the first of two recs I'll be making from this author. Elizabeth is one of my favourite authors, especially her Jack, and all of her fics are worth reading.

In this lovely fic set immediately after "The Warrior", Teal'c realises he needs to make amends to Jack for his behaviour with K'Tano. Great Teal'c voice and wonderful interactions with an insightful Bra'tac only add depth to this story. Gorgeous character study of Teal'c and Jack through Teal'c's eyes, and you can feel how much love and respect Teal'c has for Jack, and vice versa. With a wonderfully glorious team moment in Jack's office, with Daniel and Sam quietly supporting them both, it's an absolutely must for Jack and Teal'c fans.

Inspired by Rodney McKay's Scrapbook of Death, this is a fun tale of two people who just aren't getting each other. To Rodney ... of course he gets death threats! He's abrasive, he's brilliant, he's been in academia. It would be shocking if he hadn't been getting death threats, really. What's the big deal? But to John ... we're talking about the man who holds Atlantis together here, and someone actually seems to want him dead! How does Rodney not understand that this is serious business? So John is determined to find the malefactor and protect Rodney (even from himself), while Rodney is rapidly being driven mad by his overprotective friend. I don't always like "comedy of errors" or "comic escalating misunderstanding" tales, but this one won me over.

Why this must be read: I feel like I learned about this fic from this site, but it's not in the archives. So apologies if it's been rec'ced before. Why I loved this... because it's gorgeous. It's a common theme, Jonah and Thera get it on while being mind-stamped and come back home with the consequence. But petitestars writes this in such an eloquent and exquisite manner, and she has a great flair for writing Sam stories in specific. At one point I felt myself becoming angry at the unfairness of her condition and the setbacks career wise, the same emotions the character herself was feeling. That takes talent. The flashbacks were used expertly and out of order just to make it that much more multifaceted.
